I have no experience in the martial arts, will I still be able to take part in the classes?
Yes, classes are set up to be suitable for all abilities. Whether a complete beginner or an experienced martial artist.
I haven’t exercised in years and am very out of shape and worried I won't be able to keep up?
This is not a problem as the classes are generally skill based with more emphasis on learning the techniques and correct form rather than an all out conditioning workout, as you can take part in many fitness classes in any gym. That being said with this type of training you will gain a good level of fitness but this will be in a progressive manner and very much based on your own levels.
Is the training suitable for everyone?
Yes, the training is open to everyone. We really emphasise a NO EGO approach, meaning we will not tolerate any negativity towards each other. We are all there to support one another and train and grow together. This has always been and should always be a main emphasis within the martial arts.
Is the training good for self defence?
The arts that we practice are incredibly diverse and cover everything from weapons to striking and grappling. While the training is practical and effective it must also be enjoyable and promote personal growth and wellbeing. Although we keep the training fun we also train with intention to ensure the techniques will work in a live situation. The goal is to produce confident and functional martial artists.
What do I wear for the classes?
We would recommend any sort of work out wear, preferably comfortable clothing that doesn't hamper movement.
What is the age range for joining the classes?
The kids classes are 6-18yrs.
The adults classes are 18+.
